Will acro dancers perform?
Absolutely. Acro skills are woven into choreography for our Winter Holiday Show and Spring Production, so dancers get to show off what they've built on stage.
What should my dancer wear for acro?
Fitted dance clothes that move with the body — a leotard or snug shorts and top — and bare feet. Avoid baggy clothing, and secure hair away from the face.
Is acro safe for my child?
Yes. Skills are taught progressively with careful spotting in a structured environment, so dancers build strength and control before advancing to harder tricks.
What age can my child start acro?
Acro combos begin around age 4 with our Pre-Primary Jazz/Acro and Mini Jazzing/Tumbling classes, and continue up through the teen years in Youth Contemporary plus Acro combos.
What is acro dance?
Acro combines dance choreography with acrobatic skills like balances, rolls, limber work, and tumbling. At Productions it's taught within our jazz and contemporary combo classes.
